ABILITY TO PAY AND WILLINGNESS TO PAY FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION: ARE WE READY?

Vaccinations were considered to be among the most effective way in preventing further COVID-19 transmission. To date, manufactures of vaccines third phase clinical trial studies. However, extent which publics are able pay and willing for this vaccine remains unclear. This study aimed evaluate ability (ATP) willingness (WTP) vaccination Malaysia. A cross sectional was conducted 67 staff a public university Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. The ATP WTP obtained through an open close-ended method via either face-to-face interview or telephone-based interview. For open-ended method, mean (SD) values recorded USD 52.35 (620.83) 52.08 (620.82) respectively. As close-ended, 32.38 (147.97) Through closed-ended lower compared with as respondents negotiate bidding process get best price vaccine. Female, Malay, married, permanent side-income higher method. Nevertheless, except side-income, other factors not statistically significant. Findings from could facilitate government set appropriate market ensure affordability improve its accessibility so that big proportion people will vaccinated protected disease.
